Little
World of Learning Center 3, serves 60 infants and toddlers, with
special programs to support teen parents. The center joins the new
Walton Way Center and the Dogwood Terrace Centers in providing excellent
service for children and families.
The program uses a creative mix of funding including: The United Way of the CSRA, the Georgia Child Care Council, Economic Development and Supportive Services Funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Public Housing Drug Elimination Grants, Georgia Pre-Kindergarten Program and Comprehensive Grant funding for training residents as child care providers. In order to provide the best possible care for children and families, Little World of Learning also works with Foster Grandparents and work study students from local colleges. All three of the centers
focus on the needs of the entire family with developmental screenings and
parent education programs. The Little World of Learning Program is an example
of the power of partnerships - the Department of Housing and Urban Development
on the Federal level, the Georgia Child Care Council and the Pre-K Program
on the state level and the United Way, volunteers and college students
on the local level.
